What is Healthy Families Livingston?
Healthy Families Livingston is a program of the Women's Resource Center
in partnership with McPherson Hospital.
Based on a successful nation-wide effort that has worked effectively with
parents for over 10 years, Healthy Families helps parents build strength
and competency in child-rearing. It sees giving birth and becoming
parents as a pivotal time for all concerned, and believes that help
should be available to families where they need it, when they need it,
and with dignity.

The program gives moms a long-term resource person they can count on -
someone who can help them begin parenting with confidence and
satisfaction. The family support workers provide home visits, support
and education related to infant/child development, parent/infant
interaction and parenting issues such as coping skills. They assist
parents in attaining their own personal goals so they can be better parents.
